Single-use packets, roll-ons and small balms for a race bag

A Go Packet is LactiGo's single-use 10 ml pouch of Original gel. LactiGo calls the packets easy to grab and easy to carry, and says its Go Sachets, the pack pages' name for them, are convenient for travel and competition days. A monthly subscription option shows beside the one-time price, with no subscription price read.

Icy Hot's roll-on comes in 1.5 oz and 2.5 oz and as a 3-pack of 2.5 oz, with menthol 16%. Tiger Balm's Ultra Strength ointment lists menthol 11% and camphor 11% in 0.35 oz, 0.63 oz and 1.7 oz sizes. Neither shows a price on its own site.

What LactiGo's studies did and did not test for runners

LactiGo cites no study of its gel over a long run. Its 2025 study followed seven elite male rugby sevens players through 12 six-second cycle sprints, with 10 ml of gel on each leg 45 minutes before; Hong Kong Baptist University supported it, and it was a pilot. The paper describes the tested gel as including 1.25% menthol, while the Go Packets hold Original gel, which lists none.

A 2023 study of a carnosine gel in 15 trained male cyclists, with the brand not named, found no gain in repeated sprints. LactiGo's product pages carry the notice "These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration."

Timing before a run and after it

LactiGo's product pages say to apply to clean, dry skin about 30 to 45 minutes before activity, and its Menthol gel page says to apply before and after. Its FAQ says at least 45 minutes before, and its home page FAQ gives 15 to 30 minutes and 30 to 40, so follow the directions on your package. How to use LactiGo gives the steps.

PR Lotion's maker says it begins working in about 30 minutes and that effects last 5 to 6 hours. Those are Momentous's claims, and PR Lotion's page lists three studies by title that this guide did not read.

Go Packets, bottle or roll-on: price and who should pick which

LactiGo's 10 Go Packets are $55.00 and its 100 ml bottle of either gel is $55.00, both one-time. PR Lotion lists at $34.99 for a 10.6 oz (300 g) bottle. See LactiGo price for every size.

Pick Go Packets for a single-use format, Icy Hot's 1.5 oz roll-on for a small menthol product from a retailer, and PR Lotion for sodium bicarbonate. A runner's first order of one bottle falls under the 30-day money-back guarantee LactiGo's store shows; the refund page speaks of one bottle, does not mention Go Packets and refunds no shipping. Does LactiGo work covers the studies, and the best muscle recovery gel page covers the rest.
