LactiGo vs Icy Hot: the short answer
Icy Hot's roll-on lists menthol 16%, while LactiGo's Menthol gel lists menthol 1.25% and its Original gel lists none. LactiGo is $55.00 one-time for a 100 ml bottle of either gel, as read on 4 October 2026. Icy Hot's own site shows no price, so none is given for it.

Shop LactiGo: first-bottle guarantee →Menthol strength: 16% against 1.25%
Icy Hot says 16% is the maximum-strength concentration available over the counter for topical pain relief. That is its maker's wording, and this guide gives no US limit of its own.
LactiGo's Menthol gel product page lists menthol 1.25%, and its September 2024 label on DailyMed, the US drug-label listing, agrees for the 100 ml and 946 ml bottles. A March 2026 label for a 946 ml pump bottle lists 1.5%, so read the strength printed on the package you receive. LactiGo's Original gel lists no menthol and has no drug label on DailyMed.
Roll-on or gel bottle: formats and sizes
Icy Hot sells the roll-on in 1.5 oz and 2.5 oz sizes and as a 3-pack of the 2.5 oz size. LactiGo's gels come in bottles of 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) and 946 ml (32 fl oz); the 946 ml bottles are $350.00 for Original gel and $360.00 for Menthol gel. LactiGo's Original gel also comes in Go Packets, single-use 10 ml pouches that LactiGo describes as easy to carry.
Label warnings on each product
Icy Hot's label says to ask a doctor before use on children under 12 and reports rare cases of serious burns with products of this type. Its label lists conditions by name; this guide names none of them.
For LactiGo's Menthol gel, the September 2024 DailyMed label, which covers the 100 ml bottle, says not to apply to wounds or damaged skin, not to bandage tightly, and to consult a doctor for children under 2. The March 2026 label for a 946 ml pump bottle adds a line against use with a heating pad. The Original gel has no drug label, and no warnings text was found on its store page.
Price, where each is sold and who should pick which
LactiGo is sold at its own store: $55.00 for 100 ml of either gel, one-time. Icy Hot's page points to stores, so the roll-on is sold through retailers at varying prices. A first order of one LactiGo bottle falls under the 30-day money-back guarantee its store shows; no guarantee was found on Icy Hot's product page.
Pick Icy Hot for a 16% menthol roll-on. Pick LactiGo for a gel sold for training, either an Original gel with no menthol or a Menthol gel at 1.25%, keeping in mind that its 2025 study had seven players. LactiGo vs Biofreeze and Icy Hot alternatives cover the other menthol rubs, and the LactiGo review covers the study.
